Seductive: Mills & Boon books were allowed to be printed during the Second World War when paper was rationed to boost the morale of women. When I first met my ex-boyfriend, he was everything I wanted - he was tall, handsome, older and very well travelled. Even now, despite being dismissed as old-fashioned, one Mills & Boon book is sold every three seconds in the UK -– making it one of the most popular of guilty pleasures - and the market for romantic novels is worth £118 million. Damaging relationships: Fans of romantic comedies like Notting Hill, starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, also have unrealistic expectations about love.

Mills & Boon is a romance imprint of British publisher Harlequin UK Ltd. It was founded in 1908 by Gerald Rusgrove Mills and Charles Boon as a general publisher. In 1971, the publisher was bought by the Canadian company Harlequin Enterprises, its North American distributor based in Toronto, with whom it had a long informal partnership

This book has a complex story line but simple, and very flip floppy characters. Nick and Maggie were married when they were eighteen. Maggie was pregnant and when she lost the baby. She left. Now fifteen years later she applys to be Nick's assistant. She is pregnant and separated from her ex husband. One Maggie reveled the reason she left, the characters flip flop about their feelings. Maggie still loves him, But Nick has convinced himself that he isn't the same Nick he was in the past. I had to wait till over half way for anything really substantial to happen. That disappointed me. But the ending was very rewarding. The books wasn't terrible. But it did take over have way for the story to really pick up momentum. If you can stick though that you may enjoy it!

15 years ago, Maggie and Nick got married at 18 and were going to have a baby. Maggie lost the baby and left Nick right afterwards after she found out he could inherit his $5 million trust fund from his negligent father, if he divorced Maggie. Nick was heartbroken when Maggie left him thinking she did not love him, and Maggie thought she was saving his future.

Cut to present time and Maggie shows up at Nick's office for as the new secretary and they are both attracted to each other and have a lot of emotional baggage. Maggie is a couple months pregnant with her ex-husbands baby, broke, and taking care of her grieving father. Nick is the typical workaholic playboy millionaire business man H. She starts working for him and they both work on ignoring their attraction. They talk about what happened 15 years ago and they are both confused about their feelings.

***Spoilers***

There are some family interactions for both characters, but the main climax of this story is the night they were finally going to be intimate, Nick lets on that he does not think he could love the baby Maggie is carrying because it is not his, and she leaves him. 5 weeks later Nick shows up at Maggie's during a storm to check up on her, finds her in labor, helps her deliver the baby, and voila! they are planning on getting married and him adopting the kid (since the ex and biological father wants nothing to do with the baby).

I almost hurt myself rolling my eyes so many times during this book. 3/4 of the book he really dislikes her for leaving him and she flip flops on loving him or trying to let go of her feelings. The actual romance part of this book, after they decide that they can have a relationship lasts about a page or two when it is explained that they start going to movies and stuff together and the amount of time that this supposedly happens is undefined.

This really should not be classified as a romance. They only qualifying point of this story that can be a romance, is that a HEA is implied. It was boring, uneventful, and painful to read. Maggie's problems with her dad are unresolved. Nick's family is part of a series. Blah.

True to form, this is another fun romance with the second of the Andreas brothers. Nick is a full character with real feelings and concerns. Maggie shows great personal growth and character throughout. Their story is almost sad in background, but their current romance is sweet and fun. You will stay on your toes with this one. There was nice interplay with the other brothers which was nice, both old and new. I really enjoyed being sucked into their story, worried about what would happen next and how it could all work out. Definitely a good read.

I loved this book!! The characters were very likeable, and I loved the small town setting. Maybe I'm just not as cynical, but I love a story about second chances!
