Overall, ReMix is a fun, engaging book that allows students to personalize some of the basic things they encounter on a daily basis, whether that is how they view themselves, to how they interact in various groups, to even how they relate to and utilize technology. While this isn't intended to be a by-the-letter writing textbook, it could serve as a supplemental text or would make a great choice for an introductory-level Rhetoric course.

Catherine G. Latterell is associate professor of English at Penn State Altoona where she teaches first-year composition as well as a range of other rhetoric and writing courses. The book included a wide variety of stories and articles on MANY various subjects. There were liberal and conservative view points addressed from all sorts of different people with different ways of life or thinking. Overall a good book for the college writing class. I do agree with one thing though. It is overpriced, as is normal with most text books!

It inspires them to ask: Why do I think the way I do? What is my relationship to the culture around me? Am I truly, as one advertisement claims, "my playlist"? This question-posing approach allows students to write about culture and identity in a meaningful way.
