St John the Baptist's Church is the Church of England parish church of the village of Clayton in Mid Sussex District, one of seven local government districts in the English county of West Sussex. The small and simple Anglo-Saxon building is distinguished by its "remarkable" and extensive set of wall paintings, dating from the early 12th century and rediscovered more than 700 years later. Much of the structural work of the church is 11th-century and has had little alteration.

Surely more sophisticated proponents of atheism could have been summoned, such as Taner Edis whose book "The Ghost in the Universe" is one of the best defenses of the idea that modern science is most consonant with an atheistic worldview (though even he fails to make a persuasive case that theism is unlikely).

For William Clayton, perhaps the most spiritually satisfying part of the meeting happened after the decision about tithing was made. Clayton undoubtedly felt honored to have their friendship compared to that of David and Jonathan. At that point Elders Young and Kimball gave him a special blessing in which he was told that he should be a scribe for this church in the resurrection. He made note of the blessing not only in the minutes of the meeting but also in his personal journal. Like Jonathan of old, he would do anything for this modern David. Clayton’s life in America was exceptionally busy.

That picture will guide us and give us a better understanding of what the Lord wants us to accomplish in His service. As we follow the handbooks and use the collective wisdom they offer, the Lord will help us and those we serve to become complete in him (Colossians 2:10). The handbooks will remain an integral part of administering the Church and blessing its members and leaders regardless of future changes in format and content. As President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency, has declared, the handbooks will become a treasure to you as you use to help you lead.

Illustrating the design elements it encourages, The Church Newsletter Handbook is a how-to guide for newsletter writers and editors and provides clear guidelines for pastors, church secretaries, and active laypersons who want to create and/or improve their church publications. The author includes topics such as the type of equipment needed for getting started and how to get news, write and edit the material, and lay out and design the pages.

If you want to know just about everything there is to know about publishing a church newsletter, this is a must-have. I've published a volume before, and I'm in the process of publishing another one for another church. What I learned validated what I'd done before, but, more importantly, I learned so much more. Like a kind instructor, it will take you step by step. Not only will your newsletter have a professional look and feel, but you'll learn how to make it come alive! You will find yourself reading and re-reading the handbook, which is a good name for it. It will make a great addition to any church's or individual's library.
This is a great book for the starter or someone who's been working with newsletters for a while. Great tips and information.
