Basic English Grammar is a beginning level ESL/EFL developmental skills text in which grammar serves as the springboard for expanding learners’ abilities in speaking, writing, listening, and reading. It uses a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methodologies. Starting from a foundation of understanding form and meaning, students engage in meaningful communication about real actions, real things, and their own real lives in the classroom context.

Serving as both a reference and a workbook, it introduces students to the form, meaning, and usage of basic structures in English. It provides ample practice through extensive and varied written and oral exercises.

The book is a good book to use for beginning ESL students. The one I bought was a used cool buy I would not consider this book to be acceptable. It is written in, scratched up and hard to even read. I'm disappointed in this version I received. The seller misrepresented this book. I can't use this for anything. I'll need another copy to use in my class. Sellers like this one give reselling used books a bad representation. They are out for a buck.
muy bueno

I used this book to learn English when I first came to this country. I decided to learn every word and every grammatical rule in the order that the book teaches. I was able to pass all 4 levels of ESL in one year, and take English Literature class in my High School the following year. I had exposure to several other books, and this one is hands down best. If you want to learn English quickly, properly, and without frustration, get this book.

The most important lessons was taken out from the book. Those who edited this new version.. have no clue about teaching ESL.

I ordered this book for my son's ESL class. I was able to help him study because the book is easy to follow. Great book!
