Sutton has written a good book about the recording industry in America in the 1920's.

Sutton has written a good book about the recording industry in America in the 1920's. It's fairly detailed, but the serious collector will find a few bits of label trivia missing. Mr. Sutton downplays the importance of the 'dime store' or cheap labels (despite the fact that many of the best selling tunes of the day sold like hotcakes on cheap labels like Banner, Oriole and Cameo).
