This book is a such a treasure that I feel the need to offer a review. My 8 year old reader is on the autism spectrum which means it is hard to discern the difference between reading about an action and actually doing the action. Books with obnoxious children who learn the lesson by the end of the book are pointless...only the obnoxious behavior is learned. This book has none of that. The characters are wonderful, the story line thought provoking. An added bonus is the subject matter: aging grandparents with alziemers or senility and death/funerals. I feel the subjects are handled so well, you can just enjoy the story or use it to open discussion if your family is experiencing this situation. Either way, a great book for this reading level. I look forward to reading Glenda Millard's other books.
