Several friends highly recommended this author’s books, so I finally bought this—my first Mary Higgins Clark novel—in September 2017. I’ve picked it up more than a dozen times and managed to read to the 25% mark.
By page 49, approximately twenty-five characters are introduced—most wealthy & many aspiring to be wealthier. Too many characters and it’s only page 49.
Oddly, I didn’t learn Maggie’s surname until page 24. Had I not been seeking it, I’d have missed it.
The author introduces a world of excesses—which Maggie and the other characters inhabit. Reminded me of old TV shows like Dynasty.
Thought balloon, Maggie: “I hate cocktail parties.” Well, of course it’s merely a cocktail party if you leave The Four Seasons before dinner . . . in the Grill Room. Also, not excusing herself to the host/hostess and abandoning her date. Maggie likes Il Tinello (said Liam), went to boarding school & Carnegie-Mellon, and rubs along comfortably with wealthy blue bloods in Newport. Maggie is used a wealthy life, seems to be a perfect person, everyone seems to love/like her, and three men are lusting for her.
Before the plot managed to manifest itself, I was bored. DNF the Kindle version and same for the Audible version.

Ok, but not one of her best. The book starts out with an exciting suspense/horror prelude. Then I slogged through most of the book hoping to get to the bit that was described in the beginning of the book. And I do mean slogged. Very slow going. Maggie seems a bit vapid to me. Liam invites her to go with him to his family reunion. Then, as soon as they enter he walks off and leaves her alone, so she does her own exploring and finds her stepmother from more than 20 years ago. There are no truly complex characters. Maggie's stepmother seems like someone who would be fun to be around. At first, Earl is Liam's friend but as the book progresses, Earl gets more and more weird. The book was very well edited. There is violence, there is mild profanity but no "F" bombs, there is no sex. Most of the book is a cozy mystery with the thriller coming closer to the end.

This was definitely not one of my favorites for MHC. Although it was still an enjoyable read, it was slower moving and more repetitious in places. It got more lively toward the end but dragged on too long in places along the way.

Another really good mystery by Mary Higgins Clark. All about greed, deception and murder.
I just knew "that guy"was too good to be true but didn't see why til the end. Loved all the characters. There are a couple stories within this one mystery, but then that's what makes it so interesting. Glad Maggie ended up with who she did.
I recommend this and all her books-you won't be disappointed.

I gobble up every book written by this author but the premise of the story was too far fetched to be realistic, which is not what I normally expect from Clark. Not to give it away for those who want to read it no matter what but the clue to the people being murdered was too unrealistic to make the deaths suspicious.

As usual, Mary Higgins Clark never disappoints. Moonlight Becomes You is a good read. Not her best, but very good. I gave it three stars because I compared it with several of her other books and decided this one was average compared to what she normally writes. She is, in my opinion, one of the best authors releasing books today.

I love Mary Higgins books and have read hers from the beginning. Her last two did not catch my attention in the first chapter as they usually do. Thinking that it may be me and not the book, I bought this book. It has done the same thing, so I will wait and try again later. Just ordered one of her daughter's books-Carol Higgins Clark, who I also read. After, will go back to Mom's book and read. Love their mother/daughter books also.
Moonlight Becomes You by Mary Higgins Clark was a struggle to finish. If you like books about ladies dying In nursing homes, then you would probably like this book. If I could give a zero rating, I would. Not worth the time or money spent reading this book!
