I gave this as a gift to someone who lives in NYC. It is a visually beautiful book. The size is not as large as a typical coffee table book. However, it is full of photographs. Also, it contains a lot of useful information for someone who lives in the city or is planning a trip.

I surprised my mom with a trip to NYC for Christmas, but needed something I could wrap up to put under the tree. I ordered a bunch of NYC Guide books from Amazon, and this was by far my favorite. It's very pretty, and has some different info from the typical guide books. Great for someone who is interested in seeing the fashion side of NYC.

Found the book quite gloomy to look it, so wasn't particular inspired unfortunately.

The Stylists Guide to NYC is a really fun, funky, lovely, cool book. I love the photos, the paper, the little pouches on either end of the book for stashing notes and the enclosed map of Manhattan. I go to NY all the time, usually go to my same old spots, and will now look forward to seeing some of Sibella's favorite places of interest. This is a totally fun and inspiring read if you like to shop, and more importantly, if you love to look at cool stuff. While I am not a huge fan of antiques, I will go see some of the shops she mentions just because they look so fun. It did take longer than usual to come from Amazon, but who cares? GET THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE EVEN REMOTELY INTERESTED.You won't be sorry, its beautiful even if you never go to New York.

I took it with me to NYC hoping to find some new haunts I hadn't discovered before. Her taste and mine are not the same. I'll pass it on to
someone I hope can use it.

Great book if you are bound for New York! I hope to use the information when I am shopping for oddities in the Big Apple!

This book is set up like a travel guide - there are some basics at the start about transportation (taxis, subways, etc; tips for having purchases delivered to hotels), when to go to New York, etc.

I live about an hour from NYC, so I don't need a travel guide, but I still LOVE this stylist's guide. There are places mentioned in the book that i already know of, and many i didn't know of. Many of the places she outlines have been around for a very long time, so the guide should be useful for a few years. I was worried that it might seem like an other 'travel' book - quickly outdated. But it doesn't come across that way, because there are so many established places described. Occasionally my husband and i go for an overnight, so next time i'm going to stop into some of the places i have marked with sticky notes.

As a bonus, the book itself is nicely and stylishly laid out, with interesting and curious pictures. It's fun to look at and to read!
Breaks the mould on guide books. You dont even need to be travelling to NYC to enjoy this view of the city.
