I tried three years to entice my homeschooled son into completeing Algebra. After thirteen recommended books, a few people and programs which failed to interest him, I finally found Jannette Perkins who owns myhomeschoolmathclass and he has embraced Algebra. I'm grateful to her and Margaret Lial for doing what I began to think was impossible.

This book is an excellent consumable Introductory Algebra book covering equations, inequalities, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, rational expressions, roots and radicals and quadratic equations. It also has an pre-algebra section covering fractions, decimals and percents and pages with study skills. The page layout is clear and uncluttered with clear explanations of concepts and examples on the inside of the page and a few practice problems on the outside. There are word problems and each unit ends with several pages of practice problems and a test. I am using this book with my GED class and so far it has worked well.

This is a great Algebra Curriculum. It is incremental in nature, yet provides sufficient practice for the student to grasp the concepts well. The instructions are clear cut, up front, available to anyone who is reading. So many textbooks hide the instructions so the student and parent can not possibly figure it out on their own. This curriculum does not hide the truth - anyone can jump in and learn.
good.
