I love Edward Seago's art and I was hoping that this book would stop by longing to see a comprehensive book on his work with good color reproductions, however sadly it did not meet my expectations.

I love Edward Seago's art and I was hoping that this book would stop by longing to see a comprehensive book on his work with good color reproductions, however sadly it did not meet my expectations. It was way to costly not to have been good... and it wasn't. The color is not that great the text I have not yet reviewed, but that is not why I asked for this book, I wanted to be overwhelmed as I am usually with his work--when I would look through the pages, and all I can say is that it leaves a lot to be desired. at a whopping $165.00.

I have seen many of the paintings reproduced in James Reid's superb publication - The colors in his illustrations are true to the artist's renderings -As the author comments Seago made somber shades ( such as umber ) "sing.'" He "reinvented " Impressionism " as James Reis stated in one of his many catalogue texts!
