Straight forward writing on the Al-Anon Steps and Traditions. Al-Anon focuses on emotional sobriety for people struggling with the effects of addiction on their lives - their own substance/emotional addiction or those of a friend or family member. Identifying what emotional sobriety (and thus emotional addiction) is and isn't can be a process akin to building tiny villages inside a small glass bottle - subtle details that emerge bigger pictures.

Each Al-Anon Family Group has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. Every group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps of AA ourselves, by encouraging and understanding our alcoholic relatives, and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics. Al-Anon Twelfth Step work should remain forever non-professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.

This book is for people interested in Al-Anon and to learn more about the 12 steps. It is meaningful for those who are looking for help and it is a classic book.
This book is very easy to help work the steps. I strongly encourage anyone who is faced with the difficult situation of an alcoholic or substance abuser in their close circle to find a meeting, use the resources (this book being one) and gain Experience, Strength, Hope in the program
