Its sands swirled around him, and the island transformed into a cloud that swept him up from the sea and into the sky. With moonbeams to guide him, he sailed the golden cloud toward his mission: to aide the Guardians. To save and rescue a girl named Katherine. And to stop Pitch forever. The children who had just returned from the journey broke from their parents’ clutches and clustered around Kailash, the Great Himalayan Snow Goose who had been raised by Katherine. The huge bird’s graceful neck hung low. The villagers had hoped beyond hope that the Guardians might have an answer as to Katherine’s whereabouts, but because they did not, the band of heroes was lowest of all.

The journey presents an opportunity for the visitor to reflect on obstacles and attachments that are universal-like ego, greed, and fear-and to take time out for self-reflection, mindfulness, and an exploration of rich, dramatic Tibetan Buddhist art.

He is the cofounder, with his wife Diane, of the Masters Center for Transformation (MCT), a school featuring relationally rooted psychospiritual work devoted to deep healing and fully embodied awakening. Before the eventual publication of The Sandman: Book of Dreams, controversy surrounding it almost caused the book to not be made.

A journey of recovery from the grief that followed the loss of his wife turned into an experience of Transcendence

A journey of recovery from the grief that followed the loss of his wife turned into an experience of Transcendence.

An angel chooses an unlikely messenger: a businessman who lost everything he was working for in the failure of America’s banking system, who is also a Vietnam veteran who lost faith in humanity when he saw that it is capable of inconceivable acts against itself. The angel tells him that the reason he is on Earth is to decide whether life on Earth should continue, or be terminated, based on his determination of whether there is any goodness left in humanity. The angel also tells him that the secrets of the universe have been hidden from the world since the dawn of creation, and that this hidden knowledge was purposely hidden from us… by ourselves. And because mankind has not awakened to the truth, the angel takes him on a journey toward awakening, and an understanding of man’s true nature. What the angel teaches him may challenge what you’ve believed to be true about your life, and change who you think you are. It may even begin your own journey toward awakening. But the truth is, there is nothing you can really do about awakening. If you find this story incomprehensible… if you find it meaningless, then it’s probable that the beginning of your journey has not yet happened. But if something within you responds to it… if you somehow recognize the truth in it, it probably means that your own journey, and the process of awakening has begun. And there is nothing you can really do about it.

Wow! What a page turner! Not only was this book witty, clever, & very funny but it was also thoughtful and deep. I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to see what would happen next. The book made me delve in to my own inner voice & thoughts about God and enlightenment. I can't wait to read it again!

I read this book straight through, a fictionalized search for the meaning of life. It was a love story hiding in plain sight, intermingled in ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyable.
