One of my favorite authors. As usual great fast paced action, interesting vistas, super plot. I've read nearly every book he has written and I've never been disappointed.

This is a series book which provides a familiar group of loved characters, a world threat and exotic settings.

This time it is a group of 5 people who wish to seize power through orchestrating escalating civil violence from groups of well trained "refugees". This would be very familiar now to those countries faced with ever increasing numbers of people migrating & wanting refugee status. As Boston learned not all are either genuine or peaceful.

Unfortunately Forbes also indulged in a little unintentional humour with his comments on the internet. He would have been better served by using the old standby of computer viruses, as we all know too well post Melissa & the Y2K scares.

The cast of characters is a tried and true one with Tweed as Deputy Director of the SIS as Master mind, Paula Grey as his faithful companion in these adventures & the rest as needed firepower for the gun battles. We enjoy them even if they are set & do not change from book to book. Rather like Perry Mason & Della Street for the inter play.

A good exciting read with the intrigue, rich locales of European cities & 5 star hotels. As always no one is what they seem. There are clues & red herrings spread throughout the pages but you have to pay close attention to the comments of Tweed, and not the reactions of the rest of the cast.

Recommended for what it is as a mid level entry in a series of spy thriller fantasies. Enjoy but do not expect the level set by Ian Fleming. Good light reading.
