I wish someone would have written this review so I am writing it. I will admit that I haven't made anything from this book. I can not comment on if the recipes are good.
I was appalled at how many processed soy products are in these recipes. I am changing my diet because my body is sick because of years of an undiagnosed celiac condition. The last thing I want to give it is processed junk. I will be writing a few recipes down then donating it to the library, as they didn't have a copy of this for me to look at. If I had seen this book for myself first I never would have bought it. If you are into eating a lot of tofu, tempe, soy sour cream, soy yogurt, etc. then buy this book. But if you need to eliminate or minimize your consumption of these foods this is not the book for you.
i was SO excited for another GF/SF/Vegan cookbook! there definitely aren't many. unfortunately i was very disappointed when i got it. the recipes were either very simple (a recipe for roasted veggies??) or it seemed that most were pasta. replace normal pasta with GF pasta. ok....how about something that you actually COOK!? i dont know..i was shocked at the great reviews after seeing the book. maybe if you have never cooked a day in your life and need a basic cookbook this would be ok??
I was excited about this cookbook, but majorly disappointed in the end. It appears to be self published, and it's really obvious once you open it that it had no editor. There's not even an index in the back! The recipes often include ambiguous instructions and/or don't list all the ingredients in the ingredients table, so you don't notice them until you read the instructions. There are no pictures to guide you so you know what your food is possibly supposed to look like, and at this point I'd really love to know because I've tried some of these multiple times with disastrous results.

I am an experienced (at home) cook and I can follow recipes. I rarely screw up food. I tried the sandwich bread recipe 5 times and each time, it failed. The last time I did it, I made absolutely sure I followed everything to a T and had fresh ingredients- exactly what was asked for, and it came out so absolutely disgusting, dense, and greasy that I couldn't bear to eat the loaf and tossed it out. Similar results were had when I attempted the breadsticks. I don't know what it is, but it's not me, because I make other gf/vegan bread recipes with no issues.

By the way, yeast does not rise without sugar of some sort. The recipes in this book are not sugar-free.

The recipes are generally fairly simple, but include a lot of processed stuff and are very dairy-free-cheese-heavy.

You're better off getting "The Gluten Free Vegan", which I have been using for several months now and love. The least it has is an index and good recipes that don't punish you for being gluten-free.
As a gluten-free vegan, I have searched far and wide to find a cookbook that had real recipes. I'm all about eating healthy, but I want to be able to eat some of the foods I used to. This book is simple, real food. The Pizza crust, macaroni and cheese, alfredo, and the Korma are my favorites in the short time I have owned it.

The author's other book, New Dawn Kitchen bakes Gluten-Free Desserts is simply to die for. I must admit I gained about 5 pounds since discovering it. The author is easy to contact on Facebook and will help you figure out how to fine tune your cooking.

This is a must-buy for anyone who is gluten-free, vegan, or both, like I am. I hope she comes out with more! Perhaps New Dawn Kitchen does Italian?
I think this and the other books in this series are wonderful. The basis of this book is showing you that you can easily remake many of the recipes you thought you needed to give up. Many who need to be vegetarian or gluten-free, or both, feel they need to simply do away with many recipes. Now that so many gluten-free pastas and breads are available- and so many great vegan dairy products as well, she shows you how to make dishes like mac and cheese, homemade breads, and other meals like these.

There are 12 chapters, each featuring 12 recipes. Homemade bread was definitely a plus for me.

The other books she has written specialize in one type of cuisine, and this is a great first purchase. Because of this one, I purchased all the others, am highly satisfied, and will buy any other books she releases.

Money well spent, food is delicious and easy to make, and even "regular" eaters will enjoy the recipes.
As a non-Vegan I was surprised as delicious and easy to prepare these dishes were. I highly suggest purchasing this book if you're looking to vary your normal eating routine.
If you are looking for tasty, vegan, gluten-free dishes that are kid friendly, this is a great cookbook! I have tried several of her dishes and they passed the family test. The author did a great job at making vegan dishes uncomplicated. Many vegan cookbooks focus on dishes that require significant prep time, this cookbook is a relief.
