It's a shame this is out of print and hard to get hold of at reasonable price (at time of writing, used copies are $50+).
It's a very handy guide of the kind of things one might need to know doing a short term mission trip: what situations may arise, culture and customs, behavior, travel tips, what to take and what to leave behind.

Filled with anecdotes of past experiences of herself and of others, there's plenty to think about. It also includes suggested team building exercises to do with your group before you go, as well as guidance on spiritual preparation. If you can get a copy for around $10 - $12 and are new to short term missions, it's worth the purchase.

Edited to add (1/16/2016): Since reading this book in 2013, I have taken 3 mission trips. Through careful preparation, team building and bible study, I am pleased and blessed that these trips were so successful. Yes, we had issues (7 of the team all getting sick on one trip, for example) but the overall outcomes were excellent. Having foreknowledge from sources like this was very helpful in guiding us in how to prepare ourselves, our minds and our heats for these trips.

It's an OK book, however not what I was looking for. Covers a lot of the practical aspects of planning a mission trip which is important.

Martha has condensed into a small 228 page book all the essential information needed for one to fulfill his or her call to God's service. The first two chapters prepare you both spiritually and logistically for the trip. Chapter three helps you travel and survive giving tips on security, food choice and health. Chapter four helps the reader understand the teamwork needed and how to get things done in other cultures. The book closes with help returning home and a specific chapter on Disaster Assistance. Should be required reading for all interested in mission work.
