Difficult Term Definitions Archaic and difficult words are underlined and defined at the end of the verse by using the proper Hebrew text in the Old Testament and the proper Greek text in the New Testament. These words will often open up the meaning of a word or verse that often has been otherwise not understood or misunderstood. Special Margin Study Guide The Sword Bibles have a unique, easy–to–use margin study guide with over 90 topics from which to choose. This margin study guide allows readers to go from cover–to–cover using the pure Word of God as their study. Study Helps There are many other study helps including: a dictionary concordance, maps, earthquake charts, flood information, the chronology of the Bible (by Dr. Floyd Jones), Bible and Science (by Dr. Henry Morris), guide to the laws of the Bible, Jewish calendar, a survey of Daniel's 70 weeks, land and people of the Bible, the time of the patriarchs, judges and kings, and more. Red–Letter Old and New Testament A feature that is unique to our Bibles is a Red–Letter Old Testament as well as a Red–Letter New Testament. In the Old Testament, the red lettering indicates the direct words of God. In the New Testament, the red lettering indicates the words of Christ. Reading Grade Level The KJVER version was rated on the Flesch–Kincaid Grade Level Indicator test at the 4th Grade level. The Received Text Another primary difference between the KJV Easy Reading and other versions on the market is that it follows the Received Text. The Received Text is what the church fathers have used for nearly 400 years. The Easy Reading follows the King James text almost word for word, merely updating language. Among the many reasons for this is that it allows one who has learned English as a second language to have an understanding of the scriptures without thees and thous. Please note this has all been done without changing one word of doctrine or touching deity. Great cutting–edge study notes from: Dr Floyd Jones Dr. Henry Morris, ICR Dr. Carl Baugh, CEM Ray Comfort, Living Waters Rev. Charles Childers And much, much, more...

I've had several Bibles, and this one is very impressive especially for the price. You can't find them anywhere online as they are all sold out. This version I thought would be a little different than my usual KJV, but it's not. There are no deviations from the text meaning from what I've read thus far, other than taking 'eth' etc, off the end, as well as replacing the 'thees' and 'thous' with the appropriate plurality equivalent. There would be no change or controversy in definition with this alteration, thus remaining loyal to the original translation.

All the words that are directly from God and Christ are in red. The indexing is really convenient, especially for students. My daughter loves it!

Now to the physical description:

The leather, even though Bonded, is quite flexible. The walnut crocodile embossed is more flexible than the others (i.e. plain black or burgundy) I found, probably because the leather is pressed more. Normally cheaper bonded or split leathers are more stiff and have a hard time laying flat without pages turning on you. This one doesn't do that. It's comfortable in the hands and bends very easily - about half the flexibility as premium calfskin or highland goatskin (which says a lot). Lies flat and pages don't turn. And, the paper is decent without much bleeding or feathering of the print.

With that said, it's on the thicker side because it's a personal size Bible and being that the font is not tiny, you can't really expect it to be really thin.

What I really like is the size of the font. I believe it's about an 11.7 pt. font, which is very easy to read. I'm just really impressed with it for what I paid. Even though I have an Allan Bible and not much compares to that quality, this Bible can hold its own.

I would HIGHLY recommend this for students in private school, or anyone actually.

I really like this Bible. If you enjoy the KJV Bible but hoped to see an updating of the 17th century verb endings without an alteration of content in the text, this is the Bible for you. This Bible is what King James advocate's wished the NKJV had been but wasn't. Verb endings are modernized (something my Defined King James Version tells the reader how to do at the end of each book anyway)and a very slight number of truly archaic words are replaced with a modern equivalent while the rest of the archaic words are underlined and defined for you. Word order is unaltered. The pronoun "You" when plural has a miniature P above it so the distinction in the form's of you, between plural and singular, are maintained. Another plus, to me, was the consistency of Old Testament names when used in the New Testament. Esaias is Isaiah, Elias is Elijah, ect. I know any type of updating sends King James only advocates into a uproar but to me this Bible is a good, minimalist, updating of a wonderful translation. If you enjoy the KJV based on the trustworthiness of the translator's and manuscripts they used but were wanting the type of update's I've listed, you'll enjoy this Bible. Some excellent essay's at the end of the Bible, for the reader as well. Personalized size of this Bible is great and the font size is the equivalent of Giant Print. This Bible was well worth the purchase.

Bought this for my wife. She just loves it. I also have the black bonded one for myself. This new Easy Read King James version is exactly what we've been wanting in a bible. Love the red letter in the OT. It seems quite sturdy and the large print is very large. It is not a reference bible however and maybe future editions should provide cross references. The size of this bible is very compact tho for a giant print bible. Every one we've shown this to also wants one or has bought one now for themselves. Out of the 20 or so bibles we have this is now our favorite.

Let me just say first, if you are the publisher of this Bible that is reading this: PLEASE NEVER DISCONTINUE THIS BIBLE!

Without going into why the KJV is the purest, most trusted translation we have (please do this research on your own), I would like to state why this Bible was an answer to prayer. You will be amazed at how much corruption is in modern "translations". I don't condemn anyone who reads them, because it is my belief that it is not my job to judge but to encourage someone who is seeking God.

Being raised on the KJV, I became accustomed to the wording BUT I also realized the need to update some archaic words, such as those that end in "eth" and "thees" and "thous". My hopes were that the NKJV would do just that. They did, but failed to keep the text pure to the Authorized King James. I wanted to be reassured that my future kids would be able to read and easily comprehend the pure Word of God without stumbling over outdated wording. The KJV is still easy understand, especially when you remove the archaic words.I wanted this not just for my future children, but for myself and husband as well. It can become tiresome trying to read all the "thees" and "thous".

I knew when I read the details that this Bible would be stocked full of helpful information and study tools, but I had no idea how AWESOME they are.
This Bible is simply AMAZING. The publisher is sincere in their efforts to keep the Word pure, and actually have a complete list in the front of this Bible to show you each and every word that was updated. There are no hidden text changes in this Bible. You will find in the list that the only words that are changed are words such as "liveth" is changed to "lives" and "thee" to "you", etc. On the box the Bible comes in it states: "The Sword Bible makes the King James Version easier for modern readers to use and understand with its King James Version Easy Reading edition. Unlike other Bible versions, the KJVER replaces archaic words in the KJV with modern words-absolutely no words of doctrine have been changed." So, this is really an "edition" of the KJV. Not a new translation.

So, if you are looking for a updated KJV but without ruining it's purity, this is it! The study tools inside are also simply incredible. The layout is surprising, in that it's size is fairly compact (but 2 in. thick), has a giant reading font, manages to have 1 inch wide margins for your own note taking, AND a 100 subject reference system. Not to mention the study helps in the back! This list above is a tip of the iceberg of all the pages of study helps. I'm discovering different ones every day! What is also great is that it has an underlining system for words you may be unfamiliar with. Such as, it has "murmured" underlined, and underneath the verse it has the definition "grumbled".

Now, there is NO excuse for not reading the Word of God.

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matt.24:35
