I was not sure what to expect when I realized Trey would be the protagonist in AMONG THE BRAVE (Shadow Children #5). He has had such a small role in the series thus far, and a weak one at that. But being that Trey's character is so different then Luke's gave a fresh perspective to the plot.

Book 5 picks up exactly where the pervious leaves off with Mr. Talbot being driven away in handcuffs while Trey hides behind a pot on his Talbot's front porch. Not knowing the fate of his friends in the limo or Luke and Smits or even what exactly has happened that would result in the strongest adult he trust being taken by the Population Police right before his eyes; Trey is force to make some very big life or death choices and make them now.

Trey's story is full of edge of your seat heart-pounding action as the line between friends and enemies blur. Terrified, abandoned and feeling lost, Trey is now all on his own. Will he go with the instinct that has kept him alive all these years and hide?... Or try and find a way back to his friends? The wrong decision could get him caught and bring the ones he cares most about down with him.

With lots of unexpected twist, the AMONG THE BRAVE installment is a major turning point in the series that fans should not miss.

I have gotten into this series and this is the best book so far. It is about all of the good guys Lee, Nina, and two other kids gets captured. All except Trey. Trey teams up with Lee's brother Mark to find them. Surprising ending with new characters on the good guy side revealed. This definitely will leave you hanging. Especially when the last chapter is about them standing in line to join the population police. The last chapter should really be the first chapter of the next book Among The Enemies. I give this Book 5/5 stars for a great story and lot of suspense. Hope you enjoy your copy of this great Ebook!!!

I buy books for my classroom. This is a good condition hardback book that holds up to the abuse of being toted around in a backpack. Series books are a bonus as it creates interest to keep reading beyond the first book. The more kids read the more they acquire new vocabulary.

Well well written. The child Trey in this book became a leader, not follower. Love in his heart for once not being left, brought out the genius. Proof the lessons we learn, will come back to aid us and others.

Good series if you like these type of books.

If you have read the entire series then you would know why this series is so interesting to me.
If not, then you must know.
1:In the first book you would hear of the population law. That makes people kill any child after a family's second child. Some people break this law, and hide third children and keep them away from civilization.
2:I would want to know what happens to the third children.
That's why I want to read the entire series.
