Cookie is planning a party! There's a lot to do--make invitations, shop, clean the house, and cook. But Cookie's favorite time is when all of his Sesame Street friends are seated at the table and he says, "Let's eat!"

The story of Cookie Monster planning a turkey dinner is fantastic and our 3 year old LOVES it. It's very fun to read even for mom and dad! My only complaint is that the book is written in Cookie Monster-ese. For example, instead of saying "I want to cook a dinner, I need some help from you", this book says "Me want to cook a dinner, me need some help from you". We just change the words to speak the sentence correctly and everyone ends up happy!

I bought this book for my one year old son. He does not yet watch Sesame Street, but I thought the book would be cute. Unfortunately, I did not read it before purchasing it; when I went to read it to him, I was appalled at the grammar. I understand that Cookie Monster has his signature "Me want cookie" - and I suppose it sounds cute coming from him, but it loses the effect when it is being read by an adult, who is having to read sentences like "the house look kind of messy" and "then everything look better" - would it have killed the author to add an "s" at the end of "look" to make it gramatically correct? I agree with another reviewer - if I do read this to my son, I will change the sentences to make them gramatically correct. The English language is hard enough to grasp without confusing young children with incorrect grammar. Luckly, I only paid $1 for this book at Target!

What better way to set up your kid's eating disorders than a nice cookie monster book for toddlers? So settle down with some cookies and read this book with a loved one.
