WONDERFUL BOOK! It is so funny. My 8 year old granddaughter Loved it. She liked it so , she would read it herself if I was too busy at the time to read it to her and her little sisters. AND?..she picked the #2 book in the series now , without even waiting for me. She is reading it on her own and I often hear her giggle. SHe also comes to me to tell me an especially funny part. I highly recommend the books.

Katherine Applegate hit the bullseye with this series. I am sure my Grandson is Roscoe....at least in appearance. This series is about a normal, first grade boy. He loves school, his teacher, and is full of "boyness". All Roscoe wants is to help. There is no evilness in Roscoe just immaturity. Which makes for great teaching moments. Starting a book with time-out sets the stage for reading pleasure. Roscoe is sure you have done some of the same things he has. He also tells you what you shouldn't do. Roscoe has a family, a school, friends that should be the epitome for reality TV. Roscoe has a secret handshake, a mess rehearsal, a teacher he loves, and a principal most children will never forget...and all for good reasons. This does not happen often in the lives of our children. Even though only a first grader, Roscoe has learned to speak teacher. All Roscoe wants to do is help his teacher. There is even an Uh-Oh moment. At the end of the story is a section called "10 way cool things that somebody should invent". This is great section. We have started our own. You must read these books with your children, grandchildren, whoever will listen to you.

I thought it was cute, but my 7yr old thought it was a bit boring and only read half of it before it got donated.

Weird. This book is probably not just for fun. Pretty good . It has a big moral, or lesson here thank you for reading. I recommend this book for k-1st not 3rd and up.

This book is not a practical guide for how to use glue, but it sure will tickle your funny bone. Roscoe Riley is a typical mischievous young boy. He is curious and kind and full of surprises. When we read this book laughed when Riley glued his friends to their chairs so that his teacher could keep her job. If you thought gum in the hair was bad, then you should wait to see what super glue does in the hair. You will laugh with glee and fall in love with this amazing character.

This is such a fun book series for 1st/2nd graders who are starting on chapter books. My 7yr old boy absolutely loves this series! Roscoe Riley is full of humor and ideas that are perfect for the audience and even entertaining for me as his helper during reading time. Highly recommend this series for boys!
Well written. Interesting. Not as funny as anticipated, though, but kept my 7 year old engaged for 35 min while we read it.
