The book is great and adorable, and my daughter asks me to read it all the time. I was tired of pointing at things and counting them, so I asked a friend for a suggestion on a counting or color book with a story to it. This was what she suggested, and it was a GREAT suggestion.

I bought it used, and though I don't remember the product quality I was supposed to be expecting, I didn't think I grabbed a listing with a broken spine and torn and folded board book pages. Didn't return it, though, because it'll end up that way eventually anyway. The story and art itself was a great purchase.

This is a very cute story by David Kirk that is great for counting and teaching feelings. Bought this for my preschool class. It came exactly as described so there were no unpleasant surprises (pages ripped or missing, etc). Price was right for my class collection.

My two-year old and I have had the exquisite pleasure of exploring the world of Miss Spider together, and this entry in the series is as charming as the others (Miss Spider's Wedding, Miss Spider's New Car, etc.). A lonely Miss Spider wants to have a tea party, but all the other bugs flee in terror when they see her. By the end of the book (told in a series of rhyming verses), however, the other bugs discover an important secret: Miss Spider is kind and thoughtful, and, she only eats flowers. When word spreads that their perception of her was wrong, Miss Spider soon finds herself surrounded by new friends. What I love about David Kirk's books is his perfect blending of words and pictures. His tales are simple, elegant, moving stories about the power of love, the importance of friendship, and seeing beyond exteriors to the gold that dwells within every creature's heart, and his paintings are stunning. I highly recommend any of the Miss Spider (or Little Miss Spider) books. They are a treat for adults and children alike, destined to be favorite reads and lifetime classics.

This book is modern-day Shakespeare for kids. My very verbal toddler son loves it. Not only does it have a great takeaway—don't assume things you think are threatening are actually a threat, but the illustrations are beautiful (the cover doesn't do it justice).

I thought this would be a new book. Instead it reuses images from the original Miss Spider's Tea Party and this book just reiterates the numbers from the original book. My little one loves the the books because of their illustrations. I am returning this book because we have the other ones and this one does not benefit our collection.

I do not recommend this version. The original has the numbers in it as well.

My mother read this to me manyyears ago. I was happy that my grandchild liked it. It is a pure and simple children's book with a clear message.

Very goo for the small kids. They love tea parties and this helps them have fun.
My daughter loves the original version of this book but we had a hardback and I wanted a board book that she could use and not destroy too badly. The pictures are the same but the story is limited to one line per page. Kind of disappointed that it's not the full one. It's Miss Spider's Tea Party Lite.
