My 4YO nephew--who dearly loves to play supermarket at auntie's house--absolutely loves this book. I tell it with funny voices and sometimes almost too fast ( the page that lists food, I read almost frantically, as if there is a huge list)...and he loves the 2nd to last page where everyone is 'helping'--the older child buying stuffed ponies and the baby spilling oranges. I've never read it fewer than 4 times in a row. It's easy to make the children boys/girls; it's clear there is a mom (dress) and dad (tie) but the little one(s) you're reading to will see themselves. A funny voice and enthusiasm will make this a winner. I don't even mind reading it a million times because he laughs every single time!

This book is one of our all time favorites. We got it from the library and had to have our own copy. It is simple and fun, and my children "read" along. We have given it as a gift many times. We love this book!
