Steven was upset but he hoped that one day he WOULD SEE Eliza again. Five years later Steven became a student and moved to the city. He rented a small apartment on the FIRST floor. One day, when he WAS WALKING to the university, he saw Eliza. She was sitting on the bench in the park with an ice-cream in her hand. He ran up to her and said Hello!

Mrs. Macdonald has had a very busy day. First, she scrubbed and polished her kitchen floor, and then she went out shopping for good things to eat. But home again now, she gets a very unpleasant surprise. Her kitchen floor doesn't sparkle and shine any more. It's covered from one end to the other with animal footprints. Who's been walking on her floor? First, she follows a set of bird footprints all the way to the cookie jar—and out pops a hen!. Next, she and the hen follow doggie prints to a pillow on the living room couch—and out pops Mrs. Macdonald's friendly dog. She and a growing parade of animals follow footprints from one room to another, finding one silly animal after another. But there remains one last set of footprints that don't lead anywhere special. Who in the world made them? Kids will love turning this book's pages and following Mrs. Macdonald—because on every two-page spread they'll find a pull-tab that makes one animal after another pop up from its hiding place. They'll also be pleased with this story's final surprise and happy ending. Two of the book's charming spreads feature page flaps with extra-large pop-ups. Full-color illustrations throughout.

A cute story about a woman finding all of the culprits who left muddy footprints on her clean floor. I bought this for my daughter when she was three and even now, a year later, she still loves it. In fact, she sits down to "read" it by herself now since she almost has it memorized. Even though it's a pop-up book, it's quite sturdy and (knock wood) we have yet to rip any of the pages.

Price was great. Reports that had no problems or damage. Just glad to find so reasonable seemed shopping was the only thing. If you're someone who can repair pop up books, Then the world is yours. Grandma enjoys reading to my child.

"Who's Been Walking on My Floor?" by Sally Symes and Steve Lavis is an absolutely delightful book for young children (3-8). Mrs. MacDonald, the farmer's wife, comes home to find muddy footprints all over her floors. She follows them to find the owners, one by one, each one hiding inside a pop-up, and then together they follow other footprints to find the rest. When the rooster, dog, pig, horse all have been found, they help clean the floor and then have a party. My 3 1/2 year old grandson, familiar with the "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" song, loved it. Pictures are in bright colors, and pages with pop-ups are sturdy.
