This is a fun book for beginning readers. The words are not particularly simple, but they rhyme and have a nice rhythm. While the Berenstain Bears books are all fantastic, keep in mind this is for the early learners. It's a good book to challenge children and help them learn new words. Reasons why I like this book-. Reason 1- All the sentences have an alliteration.

Beginner Books is the Random House imprint for young children ages 3–9, co-founded by Phyllis Cerf with Ted Geisel, more often known as Dr. Seuss, and his wife Helen Palmer Geisel. Their first book was Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat (1957). Cerf compiled a list of 379 words as the basic vocabulary for young readers, along with another twenty slightly harder "emergency" words. The following books are for younger children and are technically part of the series.

Stan Berenstain was born in 1923 in Philadelphia, the same year and place as his future wife, Jan. They met as students at the Philadelphia College of Art. World War II delayed their career plans: Stan joined the army as a medical assistant while Jan supported the war effort by working in an airplane factory. They married in 1946 and together began drawing cartoons for the McCall's/Good Housekeeping It's All in the Family series. They worked on this feature from 1956 through 1990.

The text consists of words beginning with C, all with a K sound, with a minimum of any other words. This is a great idea for teaching beginning readers, and I wish there were more books like this.

The illustrations are cute and the story is funny. In other words, it's by the Berenstains.

If you like the Berenstains, and if you like picture books with alliterative text, then you have two good reasons to try Berenstain's B Book, 0394823249.

However, don't repeat my mistake by ordering both "Berenstains' C Book" and "C is for Clown."

They are both the same book with different titles.

Nice.

My daughter loves this book. It is simple with entertaining illustrations that makes it bearable for me the 100th time I read it and fun for her because she can start to pick out words and enjoys the pictures.

My son likes this book but it's not as good as the "A" and "B" books. It's still nice to have, I only wish there were more letters.

Unfortunately, not the edition my son wanted... (not your fault...he's very particular.)
Anayajurus
I bought this for my grandson as it was my son's favorite book. My grandson loves it too! Little expensive but worth it

Very well done my granddaughters love it
I realised just how popular this was with my 2 year old when she started talking about Cats carrying canes and collies carrying clubs. Its funny what kids take in but she really loves this book and it clearly has an effect on her too.

Its a simple story - a circus of c words - there is clarence the clown (Papa Berenstain I would say) and then he is loaded up with all kinds of things like Cats carrying canes, cows carrying cakes, Clara Catfish and so on - until CRASH

Good fun story, your 2 year and up will love the simple illustrations and enjoy browsing through themselves. A nice introduction to a single letter of the alphabet.
