Once you have optimised your site and submitted
to the search engines you need to know how many visitors are coming
to your site. Some web hosts provide stats with there hosting
packages but if your hosting company does not then here are some
FREE stats providers.
AddFreeStats
I set this up on this web site on 5th December
2003 to test them out. Click on the icon at the bottom of this page
to check out the reports.
AWStats
This is the program I now use on most of my web
sites. Its free and it is comprehensive. Its not so much
a counter but a log file analyzer. Now
hitbox is
no longer free this I think is the best free stats available.

SiteMeter
Sitemeter provides basic stats on page views and
visitors per year, month, week and day. They will also email
you a report once a week.
Bravenet
Bravenet provide numerous services for
webmasters and their stats package provides weekly, monthly and six
monthly stats and also information on your visitors such as web
browser, operating system and screen resolution.

idea to "crunch" your images. This makes them take up less
