SEO Spider
enables you to find out how many
pages of your web site (or your competitors) have been indexed by Google.
Also the sites link popularity (Google backward links), Google Page Rank (PR)
and the Alexa Rating. At the click of a button the SEO Spider will
then query Google and find out the ranking of each page.
SEO Spider is another great tool from Xybercode (Jeff Alderton) who produced
Adword Analyzer and
Traffic Equalizer.
I know Google is the most popular search engine but it would be nice if SEO Spider provided rankings and link popularity for other engines, especially
MSN and Yahoo. Perhaps Jeff will do this in the next version.
SEO Spider is another great time saving tool, it does not do anything you
could not do yourself but it produces useful information is seconds which
could take you hours to compile manually.
SEO Spider also provides other useful utilities such as the
Google dance
tool. Just type in your key phrase and it will query 3 of the Google web
sites to see if the Google Dance is taking place. Another great little
utility is Duelling Sites. This enables you to compare the number of
indexed pages, link popularity, Alexa ranking and page rank between 2 sites.
If you use this to compare your site with a competitors you can see what
factors you need to work on to make your site rank higher. SEO Spider also
has a trend reporter so you can compare the results with previous results to
see if your site has improved.
