Step 1 - Planning

Before you even press one key on your keyboard or rush out and buy a domain name, sit down and think about what your web site is going to be.

Do you want to sell more than one product on your web site?  if you are going to sell just a few products you could set up an order page for each product as with a mini site, but if you are going to sell more than a handful of different products you really need an ecommerce solution.  This can be cheaper than you think.

Affiliate Web Sites

Affiliate web sites are a good way of making money on the Internet.  You don't need your own product, you simply advertise other peoples products and you get paid a commission for each sale that is made from your referrals.  An effective way to make a successful affiliate website is to "add value" by reviewing the products your are recommending.

Adsense Web Sites

Adsense web sites are sites that a full of content and have Google Adwords on their pages.  You get paid by Google every time someone clicks on the ads.

Step 2 - Design and Build

After deciding what is going on your web site you need to design and build it.  As on our home page you have a few options, but as you have come to this page you have decided to do it yourself.  So you either know a little HTML or you are willing to learn, so have a look at the HTML editor page.  Or you could try using something that does not need any HTML skills like an online web site builder or an offline web building tool like the DIY Web Kit.  If you're not much of an artist you may also what to look at using a web page template to speed up the process.

Step 3 - Promote
